205 degrees – Homeward bound

Hummingbird blog Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose….. After a brief fogbound sojourn, Hummingbird left Stavanger under blue skies and bright sunshine. A quick fuelling stop and then it was (fairly) straight out into the North Sea under Andy’s meticulous pilotage. A last fond look at the Norwegian coastline as we set a course of 205 degrees bound for the UK. 48 hours later we are still on the same course although this “straight” line has been quite eventful. Weather has fluctuated between rain, shine, a force 8 gale (in the dark) to occasional motor sailing. There was much excitement as we even had a helicopter come hover overhead to do some training. The burning question now is where we will strike land and only the weather gods can decide! Will it be Harwich, one of England’s most picturesque container ports, the delightful Regency Cinque Port of Ramsgate, or even dreamy Portsmouth? Only time will tell and in the meantime it’s back to 205 degrees..
