Oriole arrives in Tromso, northern Norway
Posted in : Oriole
As they say all good things must come to an end. Yesterday we left Halgoya and motored to Tromso – yet again glorious sunshine but no wind to speak of. It did give us the opportunity to marvel at the amazing scenery for one last time. We arrived at Tromso which appears to be the party town of the north, many people going crazy in the sunshine!! After a thorough clean of the boat we were let out to go and track down a sorely needed beer from the world’s most northerly brewery. In the evening we had a lovely final meal all together where we shared our memories of the past fortnight. This morning after a final scrub down we had to say our farewells although some of us managed a trip to the stunning cathedral and a trip in the cable car in the afternoon – thoroughly recommended.
As the final blog we wanted to say a huge thank you to our fantastic skipper and first mate, Mike and Mark. They have looked after us so well, been hugely entertaining and imparted many wise words during our adventure.
