Wednesday en route to Cuba!
Posted in : Hummingbird
Our second night at sea could not be more different from our first. After lovely downwind starlit conditions we are now motor sailing into a light head wind dodging squalls. However we caught our first glimpses of Cuba this morning and have been entertained by some lighting storms. Our wind veered all day and dropped until we sadly had to resort to our engine in order to give us a chance to get to our destination before end of tomorrow. The rest of the day was peaceful enough with most of the crew enjoying a global weather lesson, Sarah brought down the sun for her first meridian sun sight and courtesy of our chefs we enjoyed a fresh salad lunch and fish and ratatouille for dinner. We are currently hoping the wind will continue to veer and hopefully we will be able to go back to sailing the last remaining miles during the day.
