Our ‘Book with Confidence’ Policy

If for any reason we cannot run your trip, you get a full, 100% refund of all money you have paid us. We hold all customer money in a Protected Trust, meaning it is 100% secure.



Prior to boarding, you must be able to prove you have the vaccines required for entry into any countries we will visit on the route.

Travel insurance

There is a great deal of disruption to flights currently. We strongly urge you to take out suitable travel insurance that covers flight cancellation, and to take this out as soon as you have booked with us.

Covid insurance

Th y strongly advise you to take out separate insurance. This should cover you for the eventuality that you are in lock down, that you cannot travel, that you test positive for Covid at any point – and any other scenario that you can think of! If you are based in the UK, there is a policy that seems to be very good that many of our customers have used and this is provided by the Post Office (select cruise option).

For customers based in the USA, there is a very good combined Covid and sailing insurance that can be found through Gowrie. Please fill in their 2021 Travel Questionnaire and email it to Rick Bagnall at rickb@gowrie.com.

No extra charges for solo crew

90% of our crew join solo. There are no extra charges or costs for joining solo.

Book with Confidence Terms

  • Our Book with confidence policy is valid for all bookings made from March 24 2022 to March 24 2023, and for trips departing before April 01 2023.
  • Customers who book under our ‘Book with Confidence’ policy may cancel their place on the trip at any time up to 14 days from the trip start date.
  • There is no charge for this.
  • At the time of cancellation or deferral, the customer must rebook another trip within 12 months of the original trip start date.
  • The customer will be responsible for paying the difference if the rebooked holiday costs more than the original trip.
  • Only one cancellation is allowed per person.
  • The full balance of the trip must have been paid to Rubicon 3 for the Book with Confidence policy to apply.
  • The Book with Confidence guarantee does not apply to bookings of three or more people.
  • Any offer, promotion, or discount applied to the initial booking is not transferrable to a rebooking,
  • Your cancellation is only valid when you have written confirmation from Rubicon 3.
  • The 14 cancellation policy does not apply to any special media trips.
  • Rubicon 3 reserves the right to withdraw this policy at any time without prior notice and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions at any time without prior notice or liability.
